Associate Professor Chris Zaslawski is currently Associate Head of School for the School of Medical and Molecular Biosciences at the University of Technology, Sydney where Chinese medicine is taught as a 4 year undergraduate degree. He is a registered Chinese medicine practitioner in Australia as well as a physiotherapist. He has been a short term consultant for the World Health Organisation for a number of acupuncture related projects in the areas of education, research and clinical practice guidelines. Chris has post graduate qualifications in education (Masters of Health Science Education) and Science (PhD-Science). He is an active researcher in the areas of pain, clinical research design and human research ethics and is currently deputy editor of the Australian Journal of Chinese Medicine, Australia’s only peer reviewed journal on acupuncture and Chinese medicine. More recently he has been involved in the development of international standards for TCM within the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and is the chair of the national committee for Chinese medicine for Standards Australia (SA). He is also President of the Chinese Medicine Council of New South Wales and a committee member of the accreditation committee for the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia. He has published over 35 peer reviewed publications and delivered over 60 presentations at local and international conferences.
